To qualify for a PFJ wholesale jewellery account, you need to be an Australian or New Zealand business, be a retailer or retail website and have a valid ABN. Please read our Terms and Conditions.
Sterling Silver or 925 Sterling Silver, contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. Pure silver is generally pliable & soft hence mixed with copper to make it harder & long wearing. Sterling Silver is hypoallergenic making it safe for sensitive skin and an affordable choice for kid’s jewellery.
Sterling Silver is nickel-free as it contains 92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% Copper. Other hypo-allergenic metals popularly used in jewellery are Yellow/Rose Gold, Titanium and Platinum. For plated jewellery, opt for ones made with a nickel-free base metals such as Silver, Brass, Copper or Stainless Steel and plated with Rhodium, Sterling Silver or Yellow/Rose Gold.
Metals such as Sterling Silver, Yellow/Rose Gold, Copper, Titanium and Platinum are naturally nickel-free. Plated jewellery can be a bit tricky. So opt for plated jewellery made with a nickel-free base metal such as Silver, Brass, Copper & nickel-free plating such as Rhodium, Sterling Silver or Yellow/Rose Gold.
Enamel is scratch-resistant, hard-wearing and easy to clean. Avoid wearing in while doing strenuous activity to reduce the risk of chipping. A popular trend, enamel jewellery is available in vibrant hues & adds a pop of colour to your style.
Avoid wearing your enamel jewellery when showering, swimming or sweating excessively. Enamel jewellery is often created with reactive metals such as copper which can discolour when exposed to water.
Safety is key when it comes to kids jewellery. Children should always be supervised when wearing jewellery. For bracelets & brooches, look for safety chains & clasps to ensure it’s fastened safely. Bangles are generally a safer option for babies. Rings, pendants, necklaces & earrings are more suited to older children. Choose nickel-free metals & alloys for children to avoid skin reactions.
